Levin Expands Bergen County Portfolio with New Shopping Center Assignment

Firm Named Managing Agent for Pathmark Plaza in Hackensack, N.J.

HACKENSACK, N.J., Feb. 9, 2015 - Retail real estate services firm Levin Management has been named exclusive managing agent for Pathmark Plaza Shopping Center, a 90,000-square-foot, grocery-anchored shopping center located at 375-417 Route 17 south in Hackensack.

The assignment represents the expansion of Levin's Bergen County shopping center portfolio, and underscores the firm's depth of expertise in providing comprehensive third-party retail real estate services to new and existing clients, according to Joseph Lowry, Levin’s vice president of acquisitions and business development. The North Plainfield-based organization maintains a growing leasing and management portfolio that encompasses approximately 95 properties and more than 13 million square feet.

“Pathmark Plaza Shopping Center is an exciting new addition to our management portfolio and reinforces Levin's momentum in the Northeast retail market,” he said. “This appointment is particularly rewarding because it represents our first assignment with this ownership entity. We intend to apply our proven management standards to all aspects of the center’s operation to further maximize the property’s efficiency and appeal.”

Pathmark Plaza Shopping Center is situated just five miles west of the George Washington Bridge at the intersection of Route 17, I-80, and Summit and Pleasantview avenues. In addition to its prime location in the heart of the Route 17 retail corridor, the property boasts strong regional demographics and excellent daily consumer traffic, according to Lowry. In addition to Pathmark, the property’s mix of national and local tenants includes PNC Bank, Geico insurance and women’s apparel chain The Avenue, as well as typical neighborhood conveniences such as a bagel shop and liquor store.

Levin has maintained a long-time Bergen County presence, with other leasing and management assignments including Paramus Place in Paramus, a 261,000-square-foot shopping center located at Route 4 west. Levin also serves as exclusive marketing and leasing agent for the 100,000-square-foot retail component of Edgewater Harbor, a mixed-use waterfront redevelopment on River Road in Edgewater.

Pathmark Plaza Shopping Center is the latest in a flurry of significant new leasing and management assignments for Levin. In recent months, the firm also added properties in Bordentown, Edison, Holmdel, Manahawkin and Whiting, New Jersey; Cheltenham and West Chester, Pennsylvania; and Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Levin is one of the nation's leading retail real estate services firms, with a strong focus in the northeastern United States and an owner's approach to the business. The firm's portfolio and internal resources have grown consistently over the years, responding to a variety of retail and economic climates. Today, Levin offers a full range of services for a diverse portfolio, including leasing, property management, accounting, construction management and marketing. Levin specializes in repositioning, retenanting and renovating retail properties - areas that have become particularly vital for today's institutional and individual property owners.
