Dickey's Barbecue Pit Coming to Liberty Center I in Erie, Pa.

Fast-Casual Dining Chain Inks 3,400-Square-Foot Lease at Levin-Managed Center


ERIE, Pa., Nov. 18, 2015 – Fast-casual barbecue chain Dickey’s Barbecue Pit has leased 3,400 square feet at Liberty Center I in Erie, Pa., becoming the latest national tenant to join the retail lineup at this key northwestern Pennsylvania shopping destination. The announcement was made by North Plainfield, N.J.-based Levin Management, exclusive leasing and managing agent for the 227,000-square-foot shopping center.

Levin Leasing Representative Jordan Korris negotiated the long-term lease.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit adds a family-friendly dining option at the property, according to Korris. “This franchise owner is expanding his restaurant portfolio and found Liberty Center I’s accessibility and demographics to be an ideal fit,” he said. “We are confident Dickey’s Barbecue will be a great addition to Liberty Center I, attracting loyal patrons already familiar with the brand while bringing a whole new customer base to the center.”

Founded in 1941 in Dallas, Texas, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit offers a selection of signature meats, home-style sides and barbecue sauces. All meats are slow smoked on-site in each restaurant living up to the company tagline, “We Speak Barbecue.” The fast-casual restaurant has expanded to more than 500 locations in 43 states.

Situated near I-90 at the intersection of West 38th and Liberty streets, just off of Peach Street, Liberty Center I is located in the residential heart of Erie. The center serves a growing population of 160,000 people within a five-mile radius. Anchored by supermarket chain Tops Friendly Markets and Peebles department store, Liberty Center I’s lineup of national and regional tenants includes Harbor Freight Tools, Dollar Tree, Rent-A-Center, Payless ShoeSource, H&R Block, and GNC, among others.

Several prime retail spaces currently are available at Liberty Center I, ranging from 2,800 square feet to up to 24,000 square feet. A 5,500-square-foot end cap with pylon signage on Peach Street also is available.
