Levin Arranges Two Restaurant Leases at Rising Sun Plaza in Philadelphia

Tasty Pot, Khan’s Gyro & Chicken Expand Dining Options at Retail Property

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 21, 2019 – Two restaurants have signed leases at Rising Sun Plaza, expanding the dining offerings at this 244,000-square-foot Philadelphia shopping center. The new tenants include Taiwanese hotpot chain Tasty Pot (3,000 square feet) and Khan’s Gyro & Chicken (1,450 square feet), according to commercial real estate services firm Levin Management Corporation (LMC), the property’s leasing agent and property manager.

“Dining tenants are such an important component of a retail center’s tenant mix – providing shoppers with the chance to refuel during their visits, and creating destinations in and of themselves,” said LMC Senior Leasing Representative Sidney Singer, who arranged the recent leases. “Both Tasty Pot and Khan’s Gyro & Chicken complement Rising Sun Plaza’s attractive food lineup.”

With locations throughout the United States and Canada, Tasty Pot is an authentic Taiwanese hotpot chain with an expansive menu of soups served in individual bowls and pre-loaded with various combinations of healthy ingredients. Patrons can choose their spice level as well as a variety of add-ons.

Meanwhile, Khan’s Gyro & Chicken brings to the center fresh Mediterranean-style cuisine at a reasonable price point. “This store represents the first brick-and-mortar location for this business owner, who has been successfully operating from food trucks in the University City area,” said Singer. “The concept already has an established customer base, and Rising Sun Plaza’s location and demographics proved a terrific fit for the brand’s growth.”

Situated between Rising Sun and Adams avenues, Rising Sun Plaza also features Harbor Seafood Garden, Popeye’s and Wendy’s. Anchored by Roses Discount Store, PJP Marketplace and Planet Fitness, the shopping center includes Aaron’s, Kicks USA, Farmers Best, Cricket Wireless, Mega Dollar and Citi Trends. Located in one of the most densely populated regions in the country, the center serves nearly 415,000 people within a three-mile radius and a daytime population of more than 95,000 people within those same three miles.

One, 1,500-square-foot retail availability remains at Rising Sun Plaza.

For nearly seven decades, North Plainfield, N.J.-based LMC has served as a trusted single-source commercial real estate services provider for institutional and private owners. The firm today maintains a diversified, retail-focused portfolio of approximately 105 properties totaling 15 million square feet in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, offering leasing, property management, financial management and reporting, construction and development, lease administration, marketing services, and acquisition and disposition consulting services. LMC’s capabilities continue to evolve with new technologies, efficiencies and sustainability-focused initiatives to serve a new generation of properties, investors and tenants.
