As an essential category — and one that has proven to be Internet-resistant — grocery is a significant element and a tremendous traffic driver for any shopping center. Levin’s reinvention of the 288,000-square-foot Brunswick Shopping Center in North Brunswick underscores its long history as a grocery-anchored retail specialist.
When German discount grocer Lidl expanded its Garden State footprint print with a new 28,000-square-foot store at the Middlesex County property – filling a portion of the space formerly occupied by A&P supermarket – it was an exciting win for Brunswick Shopping Center and area residents alike. As construction manager, Levin oversaw the interior demolition and demised the former supermarket space, which Lidl then transformed into a state-of-the-art location. Levin provided additional support during the project, installing new roofing and HVAC, and completing paving work along the front of the store.
