28,500-SF Location Represents Veteran Organization’s First in Pennsylvania
AMVETS National Service Foundation is set to join Tops Friendly Markets as a second anchor tenant for Liberty Center in Erie. The new 28,500- square-foot thrift store will represent the veterans service organization’s first Pennsylvania location.
Levin Management Corporation (LMC) serves as managing agent for the 230,000- square-foot property, located at the intersection of Liberty and W. 38th Streets at Peach Street. Sherry Bauer, broker/owner of SBRE – Sherry Bauer Real Estate Services, arranged the transaction as LMC’s local representative. Benedict Borruso of Pyramid Brokerage Company, a Cushman & Wakefield Alliance Member, represented AMVETS.
Created in 1948, AMVETS today represents the interests of 20 million warriors and their families. AMVETS thrift stores sell quality used clothing, household goods and toys, with 100% of the profits supporting the non-profit organization’s veteran’s programs.
“This AMVETS thrift store not only will be a great new shopping option for the Erie-area community, it will also provide an opportunity for community members to support a
worthy charitable organization,” said Bauer. “AMVETS targeted this desirable market for expansion, and we are pleased to meet its needs at Liberty Center.”
The AMVETS lease extends a period of steady transactional activity at Liberty Center. New tenant Erie Gymnastics Center and an expanded Werner Books with a full-service coffee/pastry shop are now open at the property.
Located in the residential heart of Erie, Liberty Center features a newly renovated Tops Friendly Markets with a new on-site fueling station. The tenant mix also includes Harbor Freight Tools, Dollar Tree, PA Wine & Spirits, Fred’s Furniture, Stumpy’s Hatchet House, Rent-A-Center, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Rotech Healthcare, H&R Block and GNC, among others. The property serves a residential population of more than 105,000 people within a three-mile radius.
