1998: When Levin assumed this assignment, the center had a closed Bradlees and Superfresh grocery store. Built in the 1960s, Hamilton Plaza is a grocery-anchored shopping center in the heart of a thriving Mercer County community. However, the property and the configuration of the center’s ShopRite store had become dated. An anchor-tenant closing resulted in 50,000 square feet of vacancy that, with limited frontage, was proving difficult to fill.

Originally developed in the early 1960s, this 260,000-square-foot shopping center had slipped from its top-performing position in the trade area due to anchor tenant bankruptcies and demographic shifts. The Village of Pelham Manor center’s design had become dated, and the prior use of the site had resulted in environmental issues that required remediation. Levin was tasked with restoring Post Road Plaza’s competitive positioning.
