Lidl Opens New Location at Brunswick Shopping Center in North Brunswick, N.J.
Firm Named Managing Agent for Marketplace at Edgewater in Edgewater, N.J.
NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J., Aug. 5, 2020 – German discount grocery chain Lidl has opened its newest Garden State location at Brunswick Shopping Center in North Brunswick. The 288,000-square-foot retail property is exclusively leased and managed by commercial real estate services firm Levin Management Corporation (LMC), which arranged the 28,000-square-foot, long-term commitment.
The North Brunswick location marks Lidl’s 10th food market in New Jersey and the first Lidl lease secured in the state by LMC, which has a long history as a grocery-anchored retail specialist. Lidl first established its U.S. headquarters in Arlington County, Va., in June 2015, and today sells its award-winning products in more than 100 stores across nine East Coast states.
“The addition of this growing, sought-after grocer is an exciting win for Brunswick Shopping Center and area residents alike,” said LMC Senior Leasing Representative Vanessa Fernandez-Kelty, who arranged the Lidl lease as landlord representative. “As an essential category – and one that has proven to be Internet-resistent – grocery is a significant element and a tremendous traffic driver for any shopping center. Additionally, Lidl’s value-priced platform makes the brand even more desirable during this challenging time for many consumers.”
Brunswick Shopping Center sits on Milltown Road just off Route 1 in the heart of North Brunswick’s retail corridor. Lidl joins a co-tenancy that includes a strong mix of national, regional and local retail, restaurants and service providers such as LA Fitness, Muscle Maker Grill, GNC, Dollar Tree, Sally Beauty, McDonald’s, Sherwin Williams, and Community Dental. The center serves a growing residential population of more than 133,000 residents within a three-mile radius.
For nearly seven decades, LMC has served as a trusted single-source commercial real estate services provider for institutional and private owners. The firm today maintains a diversified, retail-focused portfolio of 110 properties totaling almost 15.5 million square feet in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, offering leasing, property management, financial management and reporting, construction management and development, lease administration, marketing services, and acquisition and disposition consulting services. LMC’s capabilities continue to evolve with new technologies, efficiencies and sustainability-focused initiatives to serve a new generation of properties, investors and tenants.
