Apparel Retailer Commits to 3,000 SF at Commack, N.Y., Property
Apparel retailer Runway Clothing has leased 3,000 square feet at Mayfair Shopping Center in Commack, marking a second Long Island location for the women’s fashion concept. Commercial real estate services firm Levin Management Corporation (LMC), as exclusive leasing and managing agent, secured the commitment – continuing a period of strong activity at the 222,000-square-foot Jericho Turnpike property.
Runway Clothing offers a varied collection of women’s apparel and accessories that caters to style-conscious shoppers. Runway Clothing also has a successful location at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station.
“Mayfair Shopping Center has a long history as a well-shopped center offering a balanced mix of high-quality retailers, restaurants and service providers,” said LMC Leasing Representative E.J. Moawad, who arranged the lease. “Runway Clothing is an exciting addition, and we are so pleased this established and growing company selected this property. Apparel has been a quieter retail category from a leasing standpoint in recent years, so the new store will really make a splash with shoppers.”
The Runway Clothing commitment continues a period of strong activity at Mayfair Shopping Center. In recent months LMC secured leases with top-ranked grocer Lidl, along with three new dining tenants (JBBQ & Shabu Shabu, Meet Bar & Izakaya and Bagel Toastery) and specialty food store The Crushed Olive. These transactions followed a 20,000-square-foot commitment with soon-to-open gym chain Planet Fitness.
Mayfair Shopping Center’s impressive lineup of national and regional tenants also includes Capital One Bank, D’Ore Jewelers, Jos. A. Bank, Loft, Music & Arts, Northwell Go Health, Original Brooklyn Pizza, Outback Steakhouse, Prato 850, Rite Aid, Sherwin Williams, The Tutoring Center, Tropical Smoothie and Verizon Wireless, among others.
The property serves a growing residential population of more than 200,000 people within a five-mile radius, and the marketplace offers an average household income of more than $145,000. More than 23,000 vehicles pass the center each day.
