Arts & Crafts Retailer Inks 22,000-SF Lease at Village of Pelham Manor, N.Y., Property
Michaels, the leading arts and crafts retail destination, is coming to Post Road Plaza in the Village of Pelham Manor. Commercial real estate services firm Levin Management Corporation (LMC) secured the 22,000-square-foot lease commitment as the Pelham Parkway property’s leasing and managing agent.
E.J. Moawad, LMC senior leasing representative, negotiated the Michaels lease on behalf of Post Road Plaza’s ownership; Colleen Quinn of Quinn Commercial Properties represented the tenant.
Michaels is relocating its local presence to the 257,000-square-foot Post Road Plaza after recently closing a nearby store. The transaction underscores the strength of this dynamic Westchester County retail corridor, according to Moawad. It also adds a popular brand with an experiential spin.
Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels is the best place for all things creative, according to the company’s website. Stores carry a wide range of arts and crafts supplies, frames, home décor, holiday and seasonal items, and much more. They also offer onsite classes and events.
“Michaels is a terrific addition for Post Road Plaza, which is established as a destination property featuring national brands,” Moawad said. Anchored by a 75,000-square-foot ShopRite, Post Road Plaza offers a diverse lineup of tenants also including Dave & Buster’s, 24 Hour Fitness, HomeGoods, Lane Bryant, Panera Bread, CityMD Urgent Care, Citibank and Smashburger.
“Our latest addition is deeply familiar with the local market and already has a strong customer base here,” Moawad said. “Michaels’ recommitment in the immediate neighborhood reflects the desirability of this location. We are pleased to have been able to meet their space needs.”
LMC is marketing two remaining availabilities – of 1,500 and 1,970 square feet – at Post Road Plaza.
Situated across from Hutchinson River Parkway Exit 7, at the signalized intersection of Boston Post Road and Pelham Parkway, Post Road Plaza draws 3.9 million visits annually, according to real-time traffic data from Placer.ai. The property serves a growing population of more than 411,000 people within a three-mile radius.
